Frequently Asked Questions...
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Since 1998.
Q: Are you bonded and insured?
A: Yes. ASL has both $2 million liability and
workers compensation insurance. We can always fax over a certificate of
insurance as proof. ASL employees will frequently carry a certificate on
the truck as well.
Q: Do you check the downspouts to make sure they are running
properly?
A: Yes. The downspouts are the most important
part of the gutter cleaning process.
Q: Can you also make repairs to my guttering?
A: Yes. Our trucks are ready for repairs. We
carry most of the tools/materials necessary for most repairs. If we do
not have the necessary materials on the truck, we can schedule another
appointment to finish.
Q: Will you harm the roof in any way in the roof cleaning process?
A: No. Our cleaner is made specifically for
cleaning asphalt and wood-shake roofs. The cleaner is also harmless to
surrounding landscaping and vegetation. Our rinsing method only uses
approximately 300 psi of pressure (slightly more than your garden hose)
to create a fine-controlled mist. The mist is similar to that of a
sprinkler used at amusement parks for refreshment from the heat.
Q: Will the stains on my roof ever come back after you have cleaned
it?
A: Yes. The algae can start to grow after 30
months from the cleaning. To prevent the returning stains, ASL can
return to treat the roof every 12-18 months at a fraction of the cost of
removal/cleaning. Please ask us for further details.
Q: What are those black stains on my roof, and why is it such a
problem now?
A: The black stains are Gleocapsa Magma Algae.
It feeds on limestone. Recently, major shingle manufacturers have been
instructed by the E.P.A. to adjust the composition of asphalt shingles.
The newer shingles are now made with a higher content of limestone. More
limestone, more algae.
Q: How can you afford to provide a service at such reasonable prices
with all the equipment you have?
A: Volume and customer loyalty.
Q: Do you service the North County and Illinois Areas?
A: No, not residential work, but we hope to be
in the near future.
Q: Do you clean drains?
A: No, but we have an excellent reference for
drain “snaking” and hydro-jetting.
